Benefits of using PVC Banners
Pvc banners are a great eye catching way to promote your business and products in a busy overcrowded market place. Available in all sizes, this means they are great for graphic design ideas and clean crisp images. The banners are made of a vinyl material, which is very flexible and can be printed on directly, but don’t be fooled by its flexibility. The banner material is very durable and resistant to almost any weather conditions. This is perfect for outside applications.
Banner material falls into two categories being standard and mesh. Mesh banners are used for very large applications such as, building wraps and concert back drops. The reason for using mesh banner is that it contains tiny holes all over the surface which enables wind to pass through them.
Standard banners are the most popular as they are very portable, easily folded up or rolled away for ease of transport. Most banner companies use hems around the edges of the banner to add tensile strength. Hems can be stitched, taped or welded. Eyelets are also usually part of the banner enabling easy hanging in all type of environment for example fence railings, shop fronts, scaffolding and much more. If you’re hanging your banner at the side of the road, you might need to ask permission from your local council to do so. Planning consent may be required. If you don’t have anywhere to hang your banner, you can also buy banner frames to put them in. For example at the side of a football pitch.
Fixing banners is quite easy, if you plan to suspend your banner from a building or brick wall, screws with large washers are the preferred choice, as this type of fixing is very strong and will last. Fences and railings are easier as cable ties, rope or bungee cords can be used. A lot of companies or churches seem to use a prebuilt frame to which the banner is attached; this is great if the banners need to be changed regularly.
When designing your banner, try to avoid curly script type text if your banner will be read from the road. Large Bold text is easier read with a quick pass of the eye. Colour clash can also be an issue, try to use colours that work well together and don’t strain the eyes. Your banner needs to be attractive but also informative, try to avoid overcrowding. Banner artwork in some companies will be free, so look out for this. Make sure you get what you ask for; this can save you a big expense from paying a graphic designer.
